Tracey Brame Appointed Associate Dean At WMU-Cooley
Grand Rapids, MI – Tracey Brame was recently appointed Associate Dean of WMU-Cooley Law School's Grand Rapids campus. Interim President Jeffrey Martlew recently promoted Brame, who had served as assistant dean at the Grand Rapids campus since 2008.
Tracey Brame joined WMU - in 2006 after serving as staff attorney for Legal Aid of West Michigan. She has also served as an attorney for Public Defender Services for the District of Columbia, as a research and writing specialist with the Federal Defender's Office, and as an assistant defender with the State Appellate Defender Office in Detroit. Brame started the Access to Justice Clinic at WMU-Cooley and teaches courses in Family Law, Race and the Supreme Court, and the Death Penalty.
The Grand Rapids campus associate dean position was most recently held by Nelson Miller, who is returning to the law school's teaching ranks as professor of law in Grand Rapids and WMU's main campus in Kalamazoo.
Professor Victoria Vuletich has replaced Brame as assistant dean. Vuletich began her career as a professor at WMU - Cooley in 2008, teaching courses in Evidence and Professional Responsibility. Before joining the law school, she served as deputy division director of professional standards with the State Bar of Michigan. From 1993 - 1999, Vuletich practiced law at Shanahan Hoy & Kremski in Owosso, Michigan, specializing in personal injury, landlord / tenant, and family law matters. She has been a guest lecturer at Hertford College at Oxford University in the United Kingdom.
