Entrepreneur Daryl Reece Introduces New Brand of Vodka
Daryl Reece and wife Deborah started Stock the Bar in 2010 at their home with about forty other people as a way to socialize with friends and family, while stocking his bar in his basement. The event eventually grew into something much bigger.
"I started doing youtube videos on topics like Michigan - made cocktails because there is a lot of good alcohol made here in Michigan but many of us are not tapped into it," said Daryl.
"I was contacted by Mike Bird from Michigrain Distillery in Lansing, Michigan and asked if I would be interested in my own brand of Vodka and my response is that no one that I know is doing that," said Reece.
He continued. "Most of my videos talked about different liquors and things that people should know when making choices, so coming out with my own brand of Vodka was a dream come true for me."
Having his wife Debra backing him is all he needed to get started. With this in mind, to introduce the "Stock Da Bar Premium Vodka" brand of Vodka to the community, Daryl held a launch party at KD's Sports Lounge. The event gave friends and relatives a chance to sample the new brand, socialize and to congratulate Daryl on making his dream come true.
"For people who have never tasted "Stock Da Bar" Vodka, I will describe it as a smooth taste for a purpose, because we give a portion of our sales to The Boys & Girls Clubs in Grand Rapids, Benton Harbor and Kalamazoo," he said.
He went on to say, "I am passionate about The Boys & Girls Club because those clubs kept me out of trouble when I was a kid and they probably saved my life. My wife is passionate about Cancer research at St. Jude's Hospital, so we also give a portion of our sales to St. Jude's."
The couple also has set up a non - profit called Pieces of Reece's through which they intend to make donations from the sales of "Stock Da Bar Premium Vodka".
"I think that the biggest thing that I have learned as an entrepreneur is that I didn't do this on my own," he said. "I also learned that everyone is not against me and that there are people who are on my side and want the best for me. I am very grateful and humbled by all of the support that we have received and it has been amazing for me to see a dream of mine slowly coming true."
Stock Da Bar Premium Vodka is now available at O & E Party Store (1425 Eastern 49507), Smittys Specialty Beverage (1489 Lake Dr. 49507), bourbon Street Liquor (2234 Alpine Ave. 49544), Beer City (825 28th St. 49508), Aikans Liquor (1640 44th St. 49508). historic Idlewild items and Black memorabilia is now one of the best in the country - vast in volume and rich in content.
February's collection is the Bailey Dalton Memorial Collection of Francis Dalton with a talk on Feb.21 from 6-7 pm.
March's collection is the Annette Radden Doll Collection It is also available in Benton Harbor at A & D Liquor Corner, Mini Mart and Sunny Mart in Kalamazoo.
